Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was in the television screen as Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. In fear of stress, her parents did not want to see performing before she reached the age of 18. Perry was shy in high-school and did not act. Her first acting experience was in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated into New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California to find theater work. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. Perry was a regular character in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. She played the role of an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. She was cast in the role through an open audition despite being connected to this role.
