Pickler's childhood was a rocky one. As a toddler the mother of her fled from an violent relationship. Pickler's mother returned in 1995 back to her home and was given complete charge of the child. The situation did not work out the way she had hoped. The grandparents of Pickler raised her from the age of 12 up to the age of the age of adulthood. Pickler was, in the absence of her parents as well as her elder siblings, became busy to become a mom. She admitted she no longer had time to learn and she began to understand how to make a living as a homemaker in her early years. Pickler was a member of the teams for cheerleading in both high school and middle-school. North Stanly High School, where she graduated in 2004, was her alma mater.
